Actionable Insights for the Oil Industry
Ursa and ICEYE partner on SAR imagery for oil monitoring
Ursa Space Systems (Booth 502) and Finnish remote sensing firm ICEYE announced at GEOINT 2018 a partnership that will provide Ursa with imagery of oil wells around the world. The data, captured by ICEYE’s X1 SAR microsatellite, will help Ursa’s customers in the energy sector make more informed decisions by detecting changes in global oil storage.
“Actionable insights around the oil industry are very valuable for traders and analysts,” said Ursa CEO Adam Maher in a press release Wednesday morning. “ICEYE’s SAR imagery is exactly the kind of data we need to deliver reliable global economic intelligence for those decision-makers.”
ICEYE plans to add two more SAR satellites, ICEYE-X2 and -X3, to its constellation later this year. Its goal is reliable visibility anywhere on the planet with revisit rates of just a few hours.
