With the summer season in full swing, many people are traveling or planning vacations.

Gain a better understanding of the level of safety at your desired global destination with this fully interactive map. Published on Indy 100, the map is color-coded to illustrate how safe countries are for travelers based on data the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office published after the recent suicide bombing at the Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul, Turkey. Countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, and other Middle Eastern and African countries are deemed unsafe at this time.

Tourism in Thailand is expected to boom after Chinese search engine Baidu announced a strategic deal with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, reports ChinaTechNews. Geographic information for more than 10,000 authorized attractions, vendors, and hotels will be provided by Thailand’s tourism authority to the Baidu Map in Thailand, better connecting people and services across the country.

If you’re traveling to Rio de Janerio for the 2016 Summer Olympics, Google Maps is working to simplify your travel around the city by adding indoor maps to the Olympic venues, as well as enhancing outdoor maps of the games’ arenas. These features will be made available on Google Maps for desktop, Android, and iOS devices. Additionally, the Rio de Janeiro-Galeão International Airport had a tech makeover in time for the summer games. According to an article on ZDNet, the airport partnered with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and its subsidiary Aruba Networks to replace its network infrastructure to support wireless services using around 3,000 proximity beacons. The airport app also includes indoor mapping with turn-by-turn directions, flight status updates, and the ability to pay for airport parking.
