USGIF Announces Agenda, Opens Registration for Northern Virginia GEOINT Events

USGIF announced its agenda for GEOINT Community Week 2013 and opened registration this week for the various events to be held throughout Northern Virginia May 20-23. This year's events will take a particular focus on training and education, with several learning opportunities presented throughout the week. NGA Tech Showcase East will feature a new format, including morning briefings followed by demos at analyst workstations. Tuesday evening will feature a special edition of GEOINTeraction Tuesday with guest speaker Ellen McCarthy, NGA Chief Operating Officer.

Wednesday will feature a special workshop on Spatial Literacy presented by Esri, followed by a presentation on protecting your online presentation and networking event hosted by USGIF's Young Professionals Group.

Thursday, USGIF Technology Day, will feature nearly 20 professional development, education and training offerings this year in addition to technology exhibits. Training will be on a first-come, first-serve basies, and is expected to fill up quickly, so register today!

Thursday training and education sessions offering attendees CEUs or training certificates include topics such as: activity-based intelligence, eContent for GEOINT training, JEMA, human geography, crowd sourcing, hyperspectral target detection, disaster relief, spatial statistics, databasing concepts, full-motion video, LiDAR point clouds, overhead persistent infrared fundamentals, telling stories, commercial space-based vessel tracking, and more.

Technology Day will also feature a GEOINT Community reception in the exhibit hall with Friends of ISR from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
