In this weekend’s New York Times Sunday Review, Parag Khanna, author, TED speaker, global strategist, and managing partner of Hybrid Realty, argues that the U.S. must evolve toward a more functional map built around connected urban hubs of advanced industry—creating a “United City-States of America.” According to Khanna, it’s not enough for the presidential candidates to debate; this is the generational project of renewal the U.S. needs to remain the leading 21st century superpower.
