GEOINT 2023 Student Posters

This opportunity is for current students only.

The Symposium’s opening event is GEOINT Foreword—a pre-conference day focused on GEOINT science, technology, and innovation. During this time, USGIF gives students from a wide array of disciplines the chance to present their GEOINT-related research. Students who present at Foreword share their research with GEOINT leaders and professionals, network with fellow students and academics, and become fully immersed in the GEOINT community. Students whose posters are selected for inclusion will receive complimentary registration to GEOINT Foreword and Symposium. Student attendees are responsible for their travel and housing.

Students attending Foreword as presenters will present their work in two designated poster sessions. During these times, they will engage with attendees to discuss their research. Judges will review the posters, and the top three posters will be recognized at the end of the day on the Foreword stage. The poster competition winner will be awarded the opportunity to present their research on stage at the GEOINT 2024 Symposium during Foreword.

By March 3, 2023, all interested poster presenters should submit a title and abstract (250 words maximum). Please send proposals, presenters’ affiliations, and contact information via e-mail to education@usgif.org. If you have a draft or final poster, please submit it as well.

USGIF will screen and select proposals, and for those selected, final poster submissions will be due by April 20, 2023. Selected poster presenters will be provided with registration codes after notification of acceptance.

Timeline

• January 23: Poster applications open
• March 3: Due date for submission of poster proposals
• March 6 — 17: USGIF review of proposals
• March 21: Notification of acceptance
• April 20: Deadline for USGIF to receive final presentation documents

A limited number of proposals will be accepted, with priority given to interesting, creative, and practical ideas directly related to addressing key national security challenges. We aim to highlight innovative cross-disciplinary research, explore new directions in GEOINT technologies, and enhance understanding of the complex forthcoming transitions in GEOINT.
