USGIF is excited to launch the new online version of our flagship publication trajectory. With the digital capabilities we’ve developed over the past six months in support of the community, this digital format allows us to share not only articles and images, but the very faces and voices of the community through an immersive content experience.

Our mission is to foster deeper engagement and broader conversation about all things geospatial, to educate and inform the entire world about the tradecraft, the practice, and the opportunities that abound in this exciting field. USGIF is a bridge connecting industry, academia, and government. Facilitating these connections, hosting virtual events, and providing a forum for discussions is how we grow the community.

We encourage everyone to get involved, register for an upcoming virtual event, join a USGIF Working Group with your brilliant colleagues and peers to take on some of the hardest challenges of our time, donate to the Foundation’s EdGEOcation Giving Fund to support scholarships for the next generation of GEOINTers, become a member of USGIF today, and help us secure our nation’s future.

I would like to congratulate this year’s USGIF Scholarship Award Winners and thank all of you who have donated toward these scholarship funds. It is a national security imperative to foster and promote STEM education in this country. We must do everything we can not only to educate and train the geospatial workforce of the future, but to recruit for it, as well.

However, it can be difficult to recruit talent if people don’t know what geospatial intelligence is. This is another area of focus for the Foundation, and trajectory is one platform dedicated to that mission. Through compelling stories about the hot topics of the day, provocative interviews with leaders of the community, and perspectives from students and educators, we illuminate the vitality of the tradecraft and the satisfaction of a career dedicated to GEOINT.

In these trying times, it is as important as ever to maintain and nurture your connections with colleagues, family, and friends. We hope you enjoy the videos and podcast interviews featured in this new digital edition of trajectory. It’s our way to connect the community to you, wherever you are.

Stay safe, stay connected.
