exactEarth Wins Vessel Tracking Contracts

exactEarth Europe was awarded an approximately $1.3 million grant from the United Kingdom Space Agency (UKSA) under its International Partnerships Programme (IPP). IPP funding will support the operational deployment of exactEarth’s satellite automatic identification system (AIS) small vessel tracking technology to improve safety of life at sea for South Africa’s small boat owners and operators, particularly those in the artisanal fishing sector.

exactEarth also announced its has signed a three-year subscription revenue contract with Antrix Corporation to provide satellite AIS data services to India’s Navy. The technology will help clients identify, detect, and track vessels of interest to secure the country’s maritime borders.

Engility to Support Space and Missile Systems Center

Engility was awarded a $46.3 million option to support the Space and Missile Systems Center’s Remote Sensing Systems Directorate. This directorate’s mission is to develop, deploy, and sustain surveillance capabilities in support of missile warning, missile defense, battlespace awareness, technical intelligence, and environmental monitoring. Under the contract, Engility will provide systems engineering and integration controls, systems engineering and integration execution, and enterprise integration. Work is expected to be complete by the end of 2018.

DigitalGlobe Releases its 20 Iconic Images of 2016

DigitalGlobe published 20 images captured by its satellites representing some of the most important global events of 2016. These images include the Rio Olympics, the Syrian refugee crisis, the Dakota Access Pipeline controversy, Hurricane Matthew, and many others. Download the images here.

Esri Releases ArcGIS 10.5

Esri announced the release of ArcGIS 10.5. The release helps organizations glean insight from enterprise data, big data, and the Internet of Things as well as share that insight intuitive ways. Features include improved capabilities for handling large-scale analytics and big data; a drag-and-drop interface streamlining the creation of spatial analysis through maps, charts, and graphs; and collaboration features to connect and analyze information across the enterprise.
