Ursa Partners with e-GEOS

Ursa Space Systems announced at the GEOINT 2017 Symposium a partnership with e-GEOS, a subsidiary of Telespazio and Italian space agency ASI. The agreement will bring Ursa’s analytic products, including a weekly crude oil storage report and data feed, to a broader market and user base. e-GEOS will provide Ursa imagery from ASI’s constellation of COSMO-SkyMed synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, offering high-resolution, real-time data in any visibility conditions and establishing SAR data as an important piece of the analytic process.

Luciad Forms Partnership with Korean Companies

Luciad formalized a business partnership with two Korean companies—SI Imaging Services and G-ROS. According to the press release, the three companies signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing a solution based on satellite data from SI Imaging Services and G-ROS, paired with data management, visualization, and analytics from Luciad.

BAE Systems Introduces Dynamic Cartography Tool

BAE Systems launched its Dynamic Cartography platform, offering geospatial data and on-the-fly analytics to create and update digital maps in real time. According to the press release, Dynamic Cartography is the closest solution to a living map experience to date, providing data discovery, analytics, and active integration and dissemination of new data sets more quickly than traditional mapping solutions. The solution will be available soon for mission planning activities across a broad range of military and civil services. The company is applying elements of this new technology to its ongoing GEOINT Data Services program with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to automate geo-analytics, accelerate Foundation GEOINT maintenance, and simplify data dissemination.

Engility Launches Cloud ASCEND

Engility announced its Cloud ASCEND solution for enterprise cloud architecture, migration, and optimization. Cloud ASCEND combines commercial cloud tools with Engility’s proprietary methodology and cloud experts to help customers with digital transformation.

David Bray will lead NGA’s new Office of Ventures and Innovation, helping guide technology, processes, and public partnerships. Bray is the former chief information officer for the Federal Communications Commission.

K. Stuart Shea was named CEO of Harris Corp.’s former government IT business, which was recently spun off and sold to investor Veritas Capital. Formerly COO of Leidos, Shea is also one of the founders of USGIF and a former Chairman of its Board of Directors.
