BAE Systems Provides Technical Support and Life Cycle Sustainment to the U.S. Navy

The U.S. Navy awarded BAE Systems a prime position on a five-year, $34.9 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide life cycle sustainment and technical support for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division’s (NAWCAD) Special Communications Mission Solutions Division. Through this award, BAE Systems will support and sustain a variety of C5ISR systems embedded within vehicles, watercraft, and specialized communications platforms in the NAWCAD inventory; including maintaining and upgrading command, control, communications, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems, integrated and networked to improve the situational awareness of military operators and decision-makers. The contract was awarded through the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Contracting Office.

Jacobs Delivers Services for Major Australian Rail Infrastructure Project

Jacobs was selected by the Queensland Government to deliver the rail, integration and systems work package for the Cross River Rail project in Brisbane, Australia, as part of the Unity Alliance. Jacobs, in conjunction with Alliance participants CPB Contractors, UGL and AECOM, will deliver the package, which includes the design and reconfiguration of the rail network at either end of the new cross-city tunnels, supply and installation of supporting rail systems, integration of Cross River Rail into Queensland Rail’s existing network, and completion of seven station upgrades.

Zenuity and Hewlett Packard Enterprise Develop Next Gen Autonomous Cars

Zenuity, a joint venture between Volvo Cars (VCC) and Veoneer to develop software for self-driving and assisted driving cars, selected Hewlett Packard Enterprise to provide the crucial artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure it needs in order to develop next-generation autonomous driving systems. Deployment will begin in summer 2020. Initial rollout will take place in Sweden, with plans for global deployment in the near future.

U.S. Air Force Awards Viasat a Sole-Source IDIQ Contract

Viasat was awarded an IDIQ contract worth a maximum ceiling of $90 million, to provide special warfare operators of the United States Air Force (USAF) with Viasat’s Battlefield Awareness Targeting System—Dismounted (BATS-D) handheld Link 16 radios. In addition to equipment, the IDIQ award covers associated operator training and maintenance. The contract was awarded by the USAF Life Cycle Management Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

Solomon joined SAIC as the senior account executive over business development for the FBI, U.S. Department of Justice, and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Bureau of Prisons; Drug Enforcement Agency; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Dewberry announced the promotion of nearly 60 employees nationwide, including three staff members in its Gulf Coast offices. Jason Estes was promoted to associate vice president, who has nearly three decades of experience. Eric Pitts and Dina Bautista were also promoted to associates.
