Space Flight Laboratory Collaborates with Kepler Communications on Nanosatellites

In collaboration with Kepler Communications on design specifications, the Space Flight Laboratory (SFL) will develop a new 6U-XL nanosatellite platform tailored to accommodate the communications payload. The operational nanosatellites, Gen1 cluster, will incorporate significant upgrades from the demonstration satellites and offer higher data capacities. SFL will also help Kepler set up their own manufacturing workflow at a new facility in Toronto, where subsequent nanosatellites will be mass produced based on the design of the first satellite. SFL is specifically designing the first satellite with mass production in mind.

Micron Delivers First Mass-Produced, Low-Power DDR5 DRAM

Micron Technologies has delivered the world’s first low-power DDR5 DRAM in mass production to be used in the soon-to-be-released Xiaomi Mi 10 smartphone. LPDDR5 DRAM will address the growing demand for higher memory performance and lower energy consumption across a wide array of markets, including automotive, client PCs and networking systems built for 5G and artificial intelligence (AI) applications. It offers superior power efficiency, faster data access speeds, and meets a growing consumer demand for AI and 5G functionality in smartphones.
