Red Hat Expands Channel Ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand

Red Hat has expanded its partner footprint in Australia and New Zealand to specifically focus on open hybrid cloud innovation amid increased interest in open hybrid cloud technologies. Ingram Micro and Tech Data have been appointed as distributors for the Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider (CCSP) program and will work with Red Hat to qualify, recruit, and onboard partners as Certified Cloud and Service Providers. The Red Hat CCSP program empowers ANZ solution providers with the flexibility and scalability to meet evolving customer needs through open, cloud-based technologies. With Ingram Micro and Tech Data as distributors, Red Hat is able to assist more organizations in the region address interest in open hybrid cloud innovation.

CACI Awarded $249 Million to Provide Support to U.S. Africa Command

CACI was awarded a six-year $249 million task order to provide operations, planning, and training support to U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM). CACI will provide high-level mission expertise to AFRICOM, its component commands, and partners. CACI experts will assist the command with planning and executing peacetime, crisis, and contingency operations. The company will also use collaboration tools and techniques to increase efficiency and effectiveness. The contract represents new work for CACI and draws upon its successful performance on similar military support programs—under which it has delivered professional, technical, and theater expertise—to assist AFRICOM in completing its missions and mitigating risk.

General Atomics Supports Fusion and Plasma Sciences Community Plan

The “Community Plan for Fusion Energy and Discovery Plasma Sciences” report, released by the American Physical Society Division of Plasma Physics Community, provides a detailed plan on how to translate fusion and plasma science advancements into commercialized fusion energy and other technologies that benefit society. The report establishes a set of milestones that the U.S. fusion community has agreed should be pursued in its effort to create practical fusion energy. General Atomics (GA) Energy Group Senior Vice President Jeff Quintenz said economical fusion energy would be one of the greatest scientific achievements in human history—clean, safe, always available power with a nearly limitless source of fuel. This report, and the comprehensive process that produced it, are critical steps toward reaching that goal.

OmniSci appointed prominent tech industry leader and investor Tom Reilly to the company’s board of advisors. Reilly, whose board leadership has positively impacted the growth and financial success of numerous public and private software companies, most recently served as CEO of Cloudera during its investment from Intel and subsequent IPO.

The Board of Directors at Lockheed Martin elected James D. Taiclet  as president and CEO, effective June 15. Taiclet will continue to serve as a member of the corporation’s board, which he joined in 2018. Taiclet will succeed Marillyn A. Hewson who has served as chairman, president, and CEO since 2014 and president and CEO since 2013.

Parsons announced Lysa Scully, an aviation industry expert with more than 30 years of experience, has joined the company’s Critical Infrastructure Strategic Advisory Board. Scully is the former chief executive officer of LaGuardia Airport, the 20th largest commercial service airport in the United States.
