Esri Provides Advanced Geospatial Technology to Global Communities During COVID-19 Crisis

Esri announced they will provide a COVID-19 Response Package for Ministries of Health and Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) partners, granting access to its geospatial platform and tools that can be used for reporting and analysis of cases and deaths, public health and response activities at the national level, in addition to managing testing sites, community activities and impact, and much more at the local level. This contribution to the global COVID-19 response will support the digital transformation of global health information systems through mapping and analytics technology.

IBM Offers “Watson Assistant for Citizens” to Provide Responses to COVID-19 Questions

During the COVID-19 crisis, IBM is helping government agencies, healthcare organizations, and academic institutions throughout the world use AI to put critical data and information into the hands of citizens. Available for no charge for at least 90 days and available to IBM client’s citizens online or by phone, IBM Watson Assistant for Citizens on the IBM public cloud brings together Watson Assistant, Natural Language Processing capabilities from IBM Research, and state-of-the-art enterprise AI search capabilities with Watson Discovery, to understand and respond to common questions about COVID-19.

Leidos Provides Critical IT Network Support for Air Force National Capital Region

Leidos announced it has resumed work on a new contract by the U.S. Air Force to provide information technology (IT) services to support Air Force users within the National Capital Region (NCR). The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a five-year period of performance and a total value of approximately $450 million. The work will be performed at military installations in and around the District of Columbia metro area.

Historic RapidEye Constellation Captures Last Light

Planet announced at the beginning of the year that the RapidEye constellation has retired, capturing its last images. While RapidEye satellites will no longer collect imagery for commercial or noncommercial use, their data archive will remain available to customers for years to come. Customers who use RapidEye imagery will have the option to transition to Planet’s Next-Generation PlanetScope products, which will provide higher spatial resolution as well as continuity with the red, green, blue, near-infrared and red-edge bands.

Dewberry has appointed Yovanni Cataño, to the firm’s Boston office as a senior project engineer specializing in hydraulic modeling for the water/wastewater group. Cataño has extensive experience in hydraulic evaluations, and in the construction, calibration, and validation of numerous hydrodynamic, hydrologic, and hydraulic models. In his role with Dewberry, he is working on collection systems and advanced hydraulics projects regionally and nationally.

David Wall joined Woolpert as a senior aviation planner, working out of the firm’s Columbus office. Wall is looking forward to the opportunity to work at a wider variety of airports on a more diverse array of projects with Woolpert.
