NGA Tech Focus Areas Chart Path for Geospatial Technologies

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) released the agency’s 2020 Technology Focus Areas report on April 29. It focuses on emerging areas of emphasis for NGA and the geospatial intelligence community to enable stronger collaboration between the agency, industry, academia, and other government and community partners. NGA’s technology needs are divided into five categories: Advanced Analytics and Modeling, Data Management, Modern Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Future of Work. Mapbox Software Now Available on Carahsoft GSA Schedule 70 and NASA SEWP V Contract

Mapbox and Carahsoft Technology announced a partnership making the company’s cloud-native mapping platform available through Carahsoft’s GSA Schedule 70, NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V contracts, and the National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance (NCPA) cooperative purchasing contract, in addition to the company’s reseller partners. Under the agreement, Carahsoft will serve as Mapbox’s Master Government Aggregator. In partnership with Carahsoft, Mapbox is able to provide customers with 33-minute response time to requests for quotes, simplified ordering procedures for quick turnaround times, the ability to fulfill quote requirements and small business requirements through Carahsoft’s network of trusted reseller partners, proven reporting and tracking capabilities, a streamlined renewals process, and prorating and co-term systems.

Perspecta Completes Acquisition of DHPC Technologies

Perspecta has acquired DHPC Technologies to combine market leadership in cybersecurity with proven technology in electronic warfare (EW). The acquisition of DHPC Technologies further enhances Perspecta’s ability to support its customers with robust, comprehensive, full life cycle EW capabilities in design, prototyping, deployment, integration, and testing across multiple domains, including manned and unmanned air, ground, and missiles. The transaction further allows Perspecta to comprehensively address the emerging area of cyber/EW convergence.

Accenture Wins Task Order to Help the VA Modernize Enterprise Services and IT Capabilities

Accenture Federal Services (AFS), a subsidiary of Accenture, was awarded a task order to help the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provide cutting-edge, consumer-grade Information Technology (IT) and mission service experiences, to both veterans and the VA employees and stakeholders responsible for providing care to veterans. The $96 million contract between AFS and VA’s Service Management Office has a five-year period of performance. Through this contract, VA will fundamentally change the way in which their employees get work done and how veterans engage with VA for the wide range of services to which they have access.
