Intel Geospatial Launches Cloud Geovisual Data Management Platform

The Intel Geospatial cloud platform launched Oct. 27 to transform the way industries manage their assets, including utilities, smart cities, and oil and gas. Peraton Extends Commitment to Provide Orbital Analysis Support to Space Force

Peraton was awarded a recompete award by the U.S. Space Force to provide orbital analysis (OA) subject matter expertise support and OA and orbital management training for a variety of missions supporting the Peterson-Schriever Garrison (P-S GAR) headquartered in Colorado. The contract is worth up to $10 million over five years. Peraton will continue to be responsible for providing support for various U.S. Space Force space ground systems, equipment, software, databases, and concepts of operations for unit mission operations and future mission requirements.

BAE Systems Unveils High-Definition Uncooled Thermal Sensor

BAE Systems unveiled its full high-definition thermal camera core, Athena 1920, which combines exceptional infrared image clarity with a wide field of view. The compact, light, and low-power thermal camera core delivers superior imagery and uncompromising performance, and is ideal for long-range and demanding applications, including security, surveillance, and targeting systems. The Athena 1920 features a 1920 x 1200 vanadium oxide (VOx) uncooled microbolometer pixel array that builds on the company’s industry-leading 12-micron (µm) pixel technology. The camera’s 60Hz frame rate delivers exceptional clarity and minimizes motion blur in dynamic scenes, providing unparalleled detail of complex environments. The high-definition sensor offers nearly eight times the field of view of traditional camera cores, and with its small size (51x40x21 mm) and light weight (70 grams), is suited for high-performance applications where size, weight, power, and cost are important factors.

Leidos Awarded Contract to Support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness

Leidos was awarded a contract by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. Through this award, Leidos will provide services and support for the Defense Civilian Human Resource Management System (DCHRMS). The single award, firm-fixed-price (FFP), time and materials (T&M) contract holds a total potential value of approximately $75 million. Through this contract, Leidos will provide technical services and support for DCHRMS, a cloud-based human resources system that provides a single civilian personnel service capability. Leidos will integrate six different databases into one. This makes DCHRMS more flexible to share information between components while standardizing and streamlining personnel processes. 

Francisco Partners to Acquire Forcepoint from Raytheon Technologies

Forcepoint, a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions that protects the critical data and networks of thousands of customers throughout the world, and Francisco Partners, a leading global investment firm that specializes in partnering with technology and technology-enabled businesses, announced that Francisco Partners has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Forcepoint from Raytheon Technologies; under new ownership Forcepoint will accelerate product development and growth.

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s chief technology officer, Mark Munsell, will officially retire after 20 years of federal service Nov. 9. As the CTO, Munsell facilitated innovative development to transform and modernize NGA’s technology to better serve mission partners and oversaw and streamlined information technology capabilities and services.
