BlackSky’s Newest Satellite Delivers First Insights Within 24 Hours

BlackSky announced that its latest Gen-2 satellite, BlackSky 7, delivered first insights within 24 hours of launch. Within that time frame, the BlackSky operations team conducted satellite checkout and the satellite collected its first images. At the same time, those images were downlinked, processed, and analyzed using BlackSky’s Spectra AI suite of AI/ML algorithms to detect objects of interest and establish the first insight milestone.

Startups selected for geospatial intelligence accelerator program

A technology accelerator program funded by the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency has selected eight startups that will receive $100,000 in grants, mentoring and coaching from government officials and venture investors.

The eight companies were selected from more than 350 applicants. This will be the first of two cohorts funded by NGA. The second is planned for late August and Capital Innovators will begin soliciting applications later this month.

Lockheed Martin And Omnispace Explore Space-Based 5G Global Network

Omnispace, LLC and Lockheed Martin, have entered into a strategic interest agreement to explore jointly developing 5G capability from space. The proposed global 5G standards-based non-terrestrial network (NTN) would offer commercial, enterprise, and government devices ubiquitous communications worldwide. This type of network has the potential to redefine mobile communications, benefiting users requiring true mobility, regardless of environment or location.

Maxar Delivers Spacecraft Bus for NASA’s Psyche Mission

Maxar Technologies announced the delivery of the Solar Electric Propulsion (SEP) Chassis to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for the NASA Discovery Mission, Psyche. The SEP Chassis is based on Maxar’s 1300-class platform, the world’s most trusted spacecraft, which provided NASA the opportunity to budget, design, and build the historic Psyche mission on flight-proven, commercially developed hardware.

General Dynamics Mission Systems Introduces New truMLS Multilevel Security Product Portfolio

In order to deliver advanced information sharing and data protection capabilities to Defense and Intelligence Community customers, General Dynamics Mission Systems announced the introduction of the truMLS product suite. truMLS includes software applications and tools designed to change how users collaborate, access, and share sensitive information across multiple security classifications while maintaining the security of that data.
