Accenture Federal Services to Acquire Novetta and Bring More Advanced AI, Cyber, and Cloud Capabilities to Client Missions

Accenture Federal Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture, has entered into an agreement to acquire Novetta, an advanced analytics company serving U.S. federal organizations that are pushing the limits of what’s possible with machine learning, cyber, and cloud engineering.

Woolpert Collecting Imagery and Lidar, Providing Technical Support in Alaska for USAF GeoBase Program

Woolpert has been selected to provide geospatial data acquisition and production services, as well as related training, in Alaska in support of the U.S. Air Force’s Combat Support Geospatial Information and Services (GeoBase) Program. GeoBase is an Enterprise Program operating at Installations and contingency locations worldwide. It is led from Joint Base San Antonio under the direction of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center.

DOD Plans To Replace DMSP Weather Satellites Within Five Years

The Department of Defense (DOD) is on track to replace the aging polar-orbiting Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) with two new military satellite systems designed to monitor weather data. The recent developments follow an unsuccessful attempt to replace the DMSP with only one satellite system that satisfied both civil and military requirements, SpaceNews reported Monday.

NASA Releases RFI for Future NOAA Geostationary Satellites

NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center seeks information on concepts of satellites that would help the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration observe Earth from a geostationary orbit.

The space agency said it plans to purchase six spacecraft that would support NOAA’s Geostationary Extended Observations or GeoXO program.

Space-Based Capabilities Critical to U.S. National Security

John Hill, principal director for space policy at the Department of Defense (DOD), told the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) that the U.S. needs bolstered space-based technologies to compete with foreign adversaries, DOD News reported.
