NGA Awards Seven New Contracts

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency awarded seven total contracts for GEOINT foundation and characterization support services. Booz Allen Hamilton, Raytheon, Decisive Analytics, and the University of Texas at Austin were each awarded more than $450,000 in foundation contracts covering tools and services that describe geophysical phenomena such as topography, elevation, geomatics, and more. Raytheon, OGSystems, and SRI International won nearly $500,000 each in characterization contracts covering analytic efforts to help the agency establish detailed understanding of interest areas such as spatial, spectral, and temporal resolution data.

NGA Transfers EnhancedView Contract to NRO

The renewal adds access to DigitalGlobe’s color mosaics, Geospatial Big Data platform, and enhanced imagery streaming.

NGA Provides Imagery for First Hi-Res Antarctica Map

NGA provided imagery and expertise supporting the recent release of the first Reference Elevation Model of Antarctica (REMA) an 8-meter terrain map covering about 98 percent of the continent. The map was constructed from hundreds of thousands of stereoscopic digital elevation models taken from DigitalGlobe satellite images, and was generated using the Blue Waters supercomputer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as well as by applying specialized techniques using open-source software developed at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center at Ohio State University.
