RGi Selected for USSOCOM Project

Reinventing Geospatial Inc. (RGi) was selected for a U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Small Business Innovation and Research phase one project in response to Topic 163-005: Cloud Data Synchronization with Limited Bandwidth Communications. RGi will research an intelligent, automated solution that can integrate with existing applications to provide the basis for asserting the operational relevance of data and content, determine where it should be prepositioned, and enable new knowledge to be synchronized with distributed network resources.

Woolpert Providing Geospatial Support for WPAFB

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s (WPAFB) 88th Air Base Wing contracted Woolpert for multiple architecture, engineering, and geospatial projects at WPAFB. The Dayton-based firm is preparing an area development plan for one of the centers at the base, designing a heating system, rehabilitating two taxiways, and providing geospatial application and database support for the Air Force GeoBase program. Woolpert signed a one-year, $4.7 million GeoBase contract last summer to provide geospatial information across multiple installations.

Airbus and Planetek Italia Awarded Oil and Gas Contract

Airbus Defence and Space and Planetek Italia were awarded a contract for the supply of high-resolution imagery and services by Eni, an Italian multinational oil and gas company. With the data and services provided, Eni seeks to improve its range of onshore and offshore activities. Airbus and Planetek will support the capacity of Eni to gather valuable information for its planning, monitoring, analysis, and reporting activities.

Vencore Awarded Multiple Systems Engineering & Integration Contracts

Vencore announced the company was awarded multiple systems engineering and integration contracts, totaling more than $130 million to support U.S. government customers.

The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) announced The Honorable James Clapper joined the organization as the distinguished senior fellow for Intelligence and National Security, as well as joined the CNAS Board of Advisors. Clapper will contribute to research, mentor the next generation of national security leaders, and provide his perspective on today’s most pressing intelligence and national security issues.

Dewberry promoted Elise MacPherson to associate at the firm’s Tampa, Fla., office. MacPherson has more than 20 years of experience in the geospatial industry, specializing in LiDAR, photogrammetry, and other remote sensing technologies.
