Lockheed Martin-Built Orion Spacecraft is Ready for its Moon Mission

NASA’s Orion spacecraft is ready for its mission to the moon. Lockheed Martin has completed assembly and testing of the Orion Artemis I spacecraft and has transferred possession to NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) team today. Assembled at Kennedy Space Center, the EGS team will then perform final preparations on the spacecraft for its mission to the moon later this year. The Artemis I mission will be the first launch of the Orion spacecraft aboard NASA’s Space Launch System rocket. Over the course of three weeks, the unmanned Orion capsule will fly out and orbit the moon and return to Earth. This test mission will validate the spacecraft, rocket, and ground systems for future crewed missions.

CACI Awarded $160M Task Order to Support U.S. Air Force Central Command’s Network Operations

CACI International Inc. was awarded a four-and-a-half-year task order with a ceiling value of $160 million to provide information technology support to the U.S. Air Force Central Command’s (AFCENT) Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC). Under the task order, which was awarded through the Air Force’s Acquisition Management Integration Center AMIC), CACI will provide enterprise expertise including networking, 24/7 help desk, technical, and cyber support to multiple deployed AFCENT NOSC sites through U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). The contract expands upon previous work for CACI by providing new expertise in systems engineering and database management as well as the capability to provide video-teleconference, satellite communications, and network transport support. CACI experts will help engineer, implement, maintain, protect, and enhance AFCENT networks in the CENTCOM area of responsibility, including for those forward deployed in austere locations. Those networks include USAFCENT’s Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPRNet), USCENTCOM Partner Networks, as well as associated command-and-control networks, systems, and services.

Carahsoft Signs Cyber Security Aggregator Agreement with Broadcom

Carahsoft joined Broadcom’s global cyber security aggregator program (CSAP). The program leverages Carahsoft’s unique purpose-built tools and resources to better serve the U.S. Government and public sector markets and the company’s reseller partners coupled with Broadcom’s leading cyber security solutions. This partnership underscores Broadcom’s continued commitment to developing the public sector channel by leveraging Carahsoft’s expertise as Broadcom’s Master Government Aggregator. With over a decade of experience in the government contracting space, Carahsoft is the distributor for both the Symantec and CA Technologies solution sets under Broadcom in the public sector, providing additional value to customers seeking industry-leading security or application development and management tools.

Accenture Acquires Wolox, Boosting Cloud First and Digital Transformation Capabilities

Leidos Completes Acquisition of 1901 Group

Leidos announced the completed acquisition of 1901 Group for approximately $215 million in cash. The transaction was previously announced on Dec. 10, 2020. 1901 Group is a leading provider for managed IT services and cloud solutions in the private and public market. It will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos. The acquisition adds nearly 400 IT, cloud, and cyber specialists to the Leidos team. This will grow the company’s deep bench of certified technical talent to support customers with their mission-critical needs.

SAIC named Ravi Dankanikote as senior vice president of business development for the defense and civilian sector. In his new position, Dankanikote will be responsible for all aspects of the sector’s business development life cycle activities, including demand creation, shaping, capture, proposal execution, and campaigns.

Orbit Logic is among the 38 companies, seven organizations, and 14 individuals to receive the prestigious Tibbetts Award for their accomplishments in creating cutting-edge technologies. The Tibbetts Awards, named after Roland Tibbetts, the founder of the SBIR Program, honors these awardees for the exceptional successes they achieved through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
