In this weekend’s New York Times Sunday Review, Parag Khanna, author, TED speaker, global strategist, and managing partner of Hybrid Realty, argues that the U.S. must evolve toward a more functional map built around connected urban hubs of advanced industry—creating a “United City-States of America.” According to Khanna, it’s not enough for the presidential candidates to debate; this is the generational project of renewal the U.S. needs to remain the leading 21st century superpower. Read the essay.

This idea is illustrated in Khanna’s new book Connectography: Mapping the Future of Global Civilization. Hear Khanna speak and get a signed copy of his book May 16 during the GEOINT 2016 Symposium, May 15-18 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Register today!
