KeyW Announces Payload Demonstrations Powered by Spire Global; IARPA Releases Small Sat RFI; More

KeyW Announces Payload Demonstrations Powered by Spire GlobalKeyW announced it has chosen Spire Global’s hosted payload service to rapidly validate several of KeyW’s next-generation Innovative Space (InSpace) technologies. Spire’s hosted payload service will also enable KeyW to rapidly deploy larger constellations. Spire operates one of the world largest constellations of nanosatellites and a network of Earth-stations to collect shipping, aircraft, and weather data. Spire also hosts the payloads of third parties on its satellites as part of its “Space-as-a-Service” product.

IARPA Releases Small Sat RFI

The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) released a request for information last week on innovative small sat technology of less than 500 kilograms. “IARPA seeks information on innovations in space-based research from a variety of entities to include independent consultants, small businesses, and scientists and engineers in the academic and technology fields to mature the state of the art for small satellites,” the RFI states. 

NVIDIA to Acquire Mellanox

NVIDIA and Mellanox announced the companies have reached an agreement under which NVIDIA will acquire Mellanox. The acquisition will unite two leading companies in high performance computing. With Mellanox, NVIDIA will optimize datacenter-scale workloads across the entire computing, networking, and storage stack to achieve higher performance, greater utilization, and lower operating cost for customers.

Esri Partners with 3LOG Systems

Esri announced a partnership with 3LOG Systems, the makers of a log inventory management solution in the world forestry marketplace. Together, Esri and 3LOG will offer the ability to incorporate log inventory management with spatial analytics for a complete log chain-of-custody solution. The ability to track and visualize forestry assets at every point along the supply chain allows natural resource managers to make decisions that are more cost-effective and environmentally sustainable.
